In this article the topic is discussed if Social Dreaming is suitable for self-experience groups based on the approach of Gestalttheoretical Psychotherapy. To answer that question, the authors discussed the different theoretical backgrounds of these methods and conducted an exploratory study. First, Social Dreaming and its emergence are presented, as well as its references to Sigmund Freud’s Dream Theory. This is followed by a comparison with the theoretical assumptions in Gestalttheoretical Psychotherapy, with a particular focus on Kurt Lewin’s Field Theory.Downloads
