Abstract

This article reflects on the development, implementation, and testing of a blended learning course on qualitative data analysis methods which are used in social sciences. The course was created and tested at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf in 2022. The e-learning offer is an online-based course whose modules can be integrated into face-to-face seminars but can also accompany independent learning processes by students. In addition to teaching qualitative data analysis methods, the course aims to provide students with first insights into the practice of qualitative data analysis. Summing up first experiences from the practical use of the e-learning offer, challenges and opportunities of teaching qualitative data analysis in digital learning environments are also discussed.
