Adorno's Dreams
Keywords:
dream work, latent dream thought, manifest dream content, societal content, psychoanalysis, critical theoryAbstract
»The dream protocols« (»Die Traumprotokolle«) of Theodor W. Adorno were published posthume in 2005 by Suhrkamp. Two of the about hundred dream-protocols are interpreted in the sense of Freud’s dream-interpretation. The focus of the interpretation is the societal content of the dreams and does not lie on the personal dispositions of the dreamer. Some aspects of the Critical Theory are analysed in the »rest of the day« (Tagesrest) which is always a part of the dream. The process of the psychoanalytical orientated depth-hermeneutic method is shown in the interpretation.Downloads
